Job Summary
POWER Engineers is currently seeking a Civil Designer to work in the Power Delivery Substation Department in our Augusta office located in Hallowell, Maine. Flexibility is available for a hybrid work environment (employee will need to live within driving distance of the office).
Roles and Responsibilities
The position involves drafting and design opportunities on substation projects that include civil site development.
The successful candidate will be responsible for learning, understanding, and implementing CAD knowledge; learn client standards, practices, and procedures to ensure that work produced conforms to the client's standards and expectations; be responsible for knowing and following POWER's standards, procedures, and processes; collaborate on design issues; seek guidance from those with more experience; and mentor/direct those with less experience.
Required Education/Experience
Ability to function as a Civil Designer, Substation Design, in our Augusta office located in Hallowell, Maine.
Associates degree in drafting (or equivalent technical degree).
AutoCAD 2015 and Civil 3D experience.
The candidate must have strong command of the English language with good written and oral communication skills in order to work effectively with other team members.
Candidates must be legally authorized to work permanently in the U.S. without the need for work sponsorship.
Desired Education/Experience
5 years drafting experience with AutoCAD and Civil 3D.
MicroStation experience.
Ability to create grading plans and details from rough sketches, notes, and verbal instructions.
Site development experience, including erosion control design, storm water design, road plan & profiles, and site survey translation.

The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
